These were taken yesterday. Summer begins today. Here in Connecticut it's felt like summer for about a month. Seattle, I'm told, is still having what is typical winter weather. So never mind where the earth's axis is leaning.
These were taken with my new (to me, but used) digital SLR which I just got to replace the one whose fussy autofocus has annoyed me for the past four years. We have a trip coming up and I figured this was as good a time as any to upgrade. More on that soon.

Oh my word, that girl is ridiculously cute! I mean it, seriously, she needs to stop. She just filled my quota for the day.
Incidentally, what DSLR did you just pick up?
If your daily cuteness quota is filled, you'd better not go home today. ;)
My new (ish) camera is a Canon 40D, replacing my Rebel XT, which I can't keep their names straight but I think is three or four generations older than the newest Rebels. While I think a newer Rebel would have corrected my autofocus issues (which were not that bad but always kind of bugged me), the 40D has a few other little features that are worth having. The x0D series (they're on the 50D now) is more expensive, but a used 40D was cheaper than a new Rebel, and I think it will keep me happy for another few years.
Seattle is having typical JUNE weather. Cold and rainy. It does this every June, and every June Seattleites complain and act like it's never this cold and rainy in June. People, it does this every year!
P.S. Your daughter has perfect curls.
Thank you, Margaret! They are even curlier when it's humid, as it is now.
One of the things I don't miss about Seattle is the weather, so it's all the same to me whether it rains in January or June, I guess. Now that I think of it, summer never really began until July 4 anyway. Summer got off to a slow start here in the Northeast last year, but this year I've found myself complaining about the heat. I've lived in the South so I should know better.
Love the Santorini style from Gymboree! It's kind of sad that I can recognize the line by name, though...
She is just adorable. The weather has finally started to warm up here (90s by tomorrow), so Alexandra will finally be able to break out some of her cute new Gymboree tops. :)
